Lidex Gel, a strong corticosteroid, treats various skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, allergies, and rash. Fluocinonide reduces swelling, itching, and redness in these conditions.

• Lidex Gel usually is applied one to four times a day. Use Lidex Geltopical exactly as directed. 
• To use Lidex Gel topical, apply a small amount of Gel to cover the affected skin area with a thin film and rub it in gently. Be sure to wash your hands immediately afterward.
• If you use Lidex Gel on a child's diaper area, do not use tight-fitting diapers or plastic pants. Such use may increase side effects.
• Call your doctor if the treated area worsens or if burning, swelling, or oozing of pus develops.

Before using Lidex Gel, tell your doctor or pharmacist if your medical history, especially of: poor blood circulation, immune system problems and allergies to it, other corticosteroids, or any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems.

Do not use it if an infection or sore is present in the area to be treated.

Lidex Gel may cause common side effects, including:

• burning, itching, irritation, redness, drying or cracking of the skin
• acne
• change in skin color
• bruising or shiny skin
• tiny red bumps or rash around the mouth
• small white or red bumps on the skin

If you experience any of the following symptoms, call your doctor immediately:

• severe skin rash
• redness, swelling, oozing pus or other signs of skin infection
• changes in the way fat are spread around the body
• sudden weight gain, 
• unusual tiredness
• muscle weakness
• depression and irritability

Children who use Lidex Gel may have an increased risk of side effects, including slowed growth and delayed weight gain. 

Lidex Gel topical may cause other side effects. Call your doctor if you have any unusual problems while using this medication.

What if you forget a Lidex Gel dose?

Apply the missed dose of Lidex Gelas soon as you remember it. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not apply a double dose to make up for a missed one.
