Muro 128 eye ointment reduces swelling of the cornea (the front surface of your eye) caused by surgery, infection, trauma, or other eye conditions.

Muro 128 Eye Ointment is usually applied two to four times a day. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Use Muro 128 Eye ointment exactly as directed. To use:

• Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.
• Use a mirror or have someone else apply the ointment.
• Avoid touching the tip of the tube against your eye or anything else. The ointment must be kept clean.
• Tilt your head forward slightly.
• Holding the tube between your thumb and index finger, place it near your eyelid as close as possible without touching it.
• Brace the remaining fingers of that hand against your cheek or nose.
• With the index finger of your other hand, pull the lower lid of your eye to form a pocket.
• Place a small amount of ointment into the pocket made by the lower lid and the eye. A 1/2-inch (1.25-centimeter) strip of ointment usually is enough unless otherwise directed by your doctor.
• Look downward, then gently close your eyes and keep them closed for 1 to 2 minutes to allow the medication to be absorbed.
• Replace and tighten the cap right away.
• Wipe off any excess ointment from your eyelids and lashes with a clean tissue. Wash your hands again.

Before using Muro 128 eye ointment, tell your doctor and pharmacist:

• If you are allergic to it or any other drugs,
• Prescription and nonprescription medications you are taking, especially other eye medications and vitamins,
• If you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding.
• You should know that your vision may be blurred during treatment with Muro 128 eye ointment. Do not drive a car or operate machinery if you cannot see clearly.
• You wear soft contact lenses. You should not wear contact lenses if you have any eye infections.

Common side effects of Muro 128 eye ointment include: 

• Temporary burning in the eyes
• Temporary eye irritation

When is the best time to use Muro 128 eye ointment?

You can take Muro 128 eye ointment as needed. However, your provider might recommend you apply the medication on a scheduled basis (every 3 to 4 hours) while you're having symptoms.

How can you treat dry eyes using Muro 128 eye ointment?
