What are Patanol Eye Drops?

Patanol Eye Drops is a prescription medication that is used to treat eye symptoms such as itching, redness, burning, and watering that have been caused by allergic conditions. Patanol Eye Drops contain the antihistamine olopatadine and work by reducing natural levels of histamine in the body.

Always read the medication information and instructions before using this medication.
Always follow your doctor’s directions.

  • Wash your hands before using. Remove contact lenses and wait at least 10 minutes before replacing them.
  • Tilt back your head and use a finger to pull down your lower eyelid. Hold the dropper directly above your eye, look away and squeeze out a single drop. Keep your eyes closed for 2-3 minutes without blinking or squinting. Use your finger to prevent liquid from draining into the tear duct.
  • Do not touch the tip of the eye dropper or place it on any surface to prevent contamination.
  • Wait at least ten minutes before applying any other eye drops.
  • Do not use Zaditor eye drops if the liquid has changed colors or if there are visible particles.

Make sure to tell your doctor:

  • If you have any drug or other allergies.
  • If you take any other prescription or over-the-counter medications.
  • Your medical history.
  • If you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy.
  • If you are breast-feeding.
