What is Zaditor?

Zaditor is a prescription medication that is used to treat itchy eyes caused by allergens including dust, pollen, and animal dander. Zaditor contains the antihistamine ketotifen and works by reducing the effects of the natural chemical histamine.

Always read the medication information and instructions before using this medication.
Always follow your doctor’s directions.

  • Wash your hands before using. Remove contact lenses and wait at least 10 minutes before replacing them.
  • Tip your head backward and use your finger to pull down your lower eyelid. Hold the eyedropper directly above the eye, look away and squeeze out a single drop. Keep your eyes closed for 2-3 minutes.
  • Do not touch the tip of the eyedropper to prevent contamination.
  • If you need to use more than one drop, wait five minutes between drops. Wait at least ten minutes before applying any other eye drops.
  • Do not use Zaditor eye drops if the liquid has changed colors or if there are visible particles.
